Happiness?
Do Christians suppose to be happy on this Earth, or we need to suffer and wait till we ll get home? And is it very good thing to do - to suffer yourself & make another person to suffer jut because bible says that we not suppose to do something? Are we allowed if we know, how we want to live this life, to go and try to be happy? Is it a sin?

What can I say? Life sucks and thats just the way it is. Doesn't mean we can't make the best of it!!!
well... here's a few points...
happiness as found in culture and general spirituality is not where a Christian should find their happiness... which basically means that in Christians, happiness can also be found in money, health, victory, and prosperity.... which is where essentially the Health, Wealth and Prosperity gospel comes from.... the problem with this is that it's directed at the idea that if a person has enough faith, then you will get the health, the money, the stuff that the culture defines as happiness...
but for a Christian... our feast of joy and happiness should be in Jesus and Jesus alone... that our satisfaction in life is in Christ... and that the overflow of abundance in life is from Jesus... but even when darkness falls, Jesus is still our joy wherein we can still in the midst of pain declare God to be good and enough for us...
that's true happiness....
@leadworshipper82 - What about love to another person? I agree, that ultimate happiness in Jesus. Question is can you be in love with somebody, even if you know that bible generally doesn't approve this choice? Or, you have to leave this idea to be with person, that you love and just accept it. I know Jesus won't dump you :))) just because you ve picked something wrong, but can you do it? Is it right to be happy on this Earth that way?
@nidan@xanga - lol, the problem is we need to watch how we making best of it, so it won't turn into worst :)))
@Undina - well... love is a choice as is happiness...
you love somebody because you choose to love them... and in such a choice, you commit yourself to it, thus finding and choosing to be happy with that person...
just like God chose to love us to the point of Him sending Jesus to us to redeem us for His own happiness... i think God allows us to experience that kind of happiness in the person we choose to love.... because God is good and He is big... He allows that to happen i think...
@leadworshipper82 - Yeah... and there is consequences of this choice :))) If you choose something you should be ready to accept what comes with it. Like death on the cross was for Jesus... I gues... I don't know if i really want to deal with consequences :)))
